Hearing God: Developing a Conversational Relationship with God by Dallas Willard
“Hearing God,” by Dallas Willard, is one of the most practical books on learning how to hear the voice of God that I know. I’ve read a lot of books by Dallas Willard, and I can tell you they are not easy to read. This book is an exception.
Beginning with a story of his godly Christian grandmother’s confusion and concern about her ability to hear God’s voice, Willard invites his readers to learn how to hear God. It is a process that involves time and effort, but is well worth it.
One of the things I like most about this book is that Willard includes exercises at the end of each chapter. Confession: I usually skip these kinds of things in most books I read, but found Willard’s exercises to be valuable in learning how to recognize God’s voice in Scripture.
If you are one of the many people who are puzzled by the idea of how to hear God I recommend this book highly.
